Family transition and scandals

The Scandals series begins with five young adults who have spent their lives believing they have no siblings.  They come from very different backgrounds and have little in common – until the death of a famous country musician named Roger Elliott changes all of their lives.

Roger left behind more than music and money.  After his death, the five young people discover that they are his children, half-brothers and half-sisters, raised separately and completely unaware he was their father – and the owner of a private-investigation agency in Austin, Texas.  But there is a condition attached to the inheritance.  The five siblings must agree to work together if they want to keep what their father left them.

For these young adults, the inheritance is far more complicated than receiving money or a business.  They suddenly have to deal with strangers who are their brothers and sisters, a father they didn’t know, and a legacy that comes with dangerous enemies.

The series is part romantic suspense, part family drama, and part private-investigator mystery.  The romance in each book is intertwined with the investigation, so the characters aren’t simply solving crimes – they’re also discovering who they are, learning to trust one another, and confronting the complicated legacy their father left behind.
